What data we collect
We collect only what we need to run the site and improve it. Here is what that means in practice:
- Usage data — pages visited, time on page, which tools you compared, and which links you clicked. This is collected anonymously via PostHog analytics.
- Device and browser data — browser type, screen size, and operating system. Used only to make the site work correctly across devices.
- Referral source — how you arrived at the site (for example, from a search engine or a link). This helps us understand what brings people here.
We do not collect your name, email address, or any other personal details unless you contact us directly. We do not require you to create an account.
How we use PostHog analytics
We use PostHog to understand how people use the site — which categories are popular, which comparisons are most useful, and where people get stuck. This helps us improve the site over time.
PostHog is configured to:
- Anonymise IP addresses before they are stored
- Not collect personally identifiable information
- Respect browser “Do Not Track” signals

Affiliate links and third-party sites
When you click an affiliate link on CompareMyAI.io and visit a third-party site, that site has its own privacy policy. We pass a referral identifier so the provider knows the visit came from us — this is standard affiliate tracking and is how we earn our commission.
We have no control over, and no responsibility for, the data practices of third-party sites. We recommend reading their privacy policies before signing up for any tool.
What we do not do
- Sell your data to any third party
- Share your data with advertisers
- Use your data to build advertising profiles
- Send you marketing emails (we don't collect your email)
- Use tracking technologies beyond analytics cookies
How long we keep data
Analytics data is retained for 12 months and then automatically deleted. If you contact us by email, we keep that correspondence for as long as it is reasonably necessary, and delete it when it is no longer needed.
